its extremely scary how ruthless and murderous this beautiful woman can be. she is an exact example of why books should not be judged by their covers. on the outside, rowena seems like your typical hot blonde cougar, looking for a good time. hell, sometimes she can even come off as innocent. however, her personality strays far from innocence. she follows closely in her husband's steps in the sense that she likes anything morbid and murderous. she gets a rise out of seeing the pain from others, which is perhaps why she likes the idea of the zombie apocalypse so dearly. being that there's little emotion connected with the undead, she finds them the most fun to kill.
though rowena sees her husband as a god, that doesn't mean she isn't a leader herself. besides her counterpart, the gang that follows their lead relies closely on the blonde bombshell. she'll bark out orders as she sees fit and won't think anything of it. she likes to come up with cruel plans or map out their next area of target, and she'll take credit for every single little detail. she likes to think of herself as a queen upon her wicked throne, and she won't let anyone forget that. the fact that her husband enforces her behavior only helps to further it.
clearly the coopers are a careless bunch. rowena, in particular, had a record a mile long even before she met her husband. authorities have never meant much to her but even so, she's usually lucky in getting away with things. now that the zombie apocalypse is upon them, everyone has been taking care as to not draw attention to themselves. rowena, however, doesn't see them as much of a threat. seeing as they've killed the living before, she thinks she and her husband will be just fine.
to say the least, rowena cooper is a creepy lady. even when she's caught in a killing spree, she always appears calm and collected. if anything, its the smile that's plastereda cross her face that's alarming to those around her. her tones are usually sarcastic or innocent seeming, throwing those off around her. knowing what she's done in her past, people are usually surprised when they talk to her and realize how plesant she seems. its hard to get an angry rise out of her and anyone that does will likely not live long after.
despite how fucked up this woman is, it can be said that rowena is a lover. she and her husband have a very open relationship and she'd do just about anything to please him. seeing as she bisexual, she's been with both men and women of all sorts, all while being married to mister cooper. however, deep down, he will forever be the only man as horrid as she is. while they're usually off looting someplace or making someone's life horrible, she still finds the time to be sweet and romantic...in her own disturbing manner.

the early history of rowena cooper is not something that is shared willingly. hell, her better half probably hasn't heard half of her beginnings. if rowena had been born to a druggie mother or grew up in foster care, or had abusive parents, her behavior may have been a bit more explainable. instead, she was born to a rather wealthy couple, determined on making their little girl perfect. her father had been a family court judge and her mother a psychiatrist; seemingly a perfect family.
as rowena grew into a teenager, she realized her love for horror movies and metal music. she attempted to see/listen to as much as she possibly could but having two extremely religious parents, these interests were quickly suppressed. her mother had her opinions on what such nonsense would do to the mind of her little girl. and so, they shipped her off to a catholic boarding school to avoid any further interest in such horrible things.
while in boarding school, rowena did not fit in, and as expected, she acted out. first, it started out as small things - destroying her uniform, minor acts of vandalism, refusing to attend classes or mass. god was no an idea she was even willing to entertain and while she didn't believe in the devil either, she made sure to 'fake' her allegiance to him to frighten the nuns of the school. as she acted out, she was punished. and as she was punished, she acted out to an even greater extent. from her minor offenses, rowena moved into bullying the other girls who picked on her, leaving disturbing messages for them, and threatening them each moment she had the opportunity to. despite the fact that she spent most of her time in a solitary confinement-type of closet, rowena managed to obstinate from expulsion due to her parents enormous donations to the school. they didn't want her back at home, frightened and ashamed at their failure, so they paid to keep her away.
at eighteen, rowena was finally free. she left the private school, not before setting fire to the curtains in the chapel, and never looked back. she had no possession and her parents had disowned her, and thus, she was on her own. her late teens and early twenties were all a blur due to her drug use. she traveled the states, getting by where she could with little money. it didn't matter though. with her looks and willingness to party, she got by just fine. along the away, she committed a string of different crimes in which she was wanted by authorities in many different states.
shortly after her twenty-fifth birthday, rowena was sent to a psychiatric hospital for court mandated drug and mental health counseling. she'd done her best to stay away from the cops, but they managed to drag her down finally. she'd spent only four days within the hospital's walls before a group of her old buddies managed to break her out. she laid low for a short while, attempting to clean up in order to stay out of jail.
but it didn't last long. before she knew it, rowena was holding up a convenience store for the couple hundred dollars that was in the register and as many packs of cigarettes as she could carry. she'd been right in the middle of demanding the cash in the drawer when cooper walked it with the same idea. as she was distracted, and interested in his arrival, the cashier had enough time to hit the panic button to call the police. the two ran off before they could be caught.
just like bonnie and clyde, the two were a terribly great pair. as the robbed a mansion in beverly hills, cooper stole a rather pricey engagement ring and popped the question. before they knew it, they were wed in vegas only to go on a robbing spree for their honeymoon.
when the zombie outbreak came, the coopers had little concern. they'd been used to such a wretched lifestyle already that the curve ball was nothing to them. in fact, it made things easier for them. with the world in shambles, there was no one to truly stop them.
