some people just want to watch the world burn. others, want to set fire only to get the credit for later extinguishing it. such was the case in the matter of doctor ramsden. as a scientist and medical doctor, he had been scheming to create the X VIRUS - a virus that would make its host sick by slowly shutting their body down. creating an antidote to counter the virus, ramsden though he had it all figured out. he would inject patients, and when they realized they were dying, they'd paid him big bucks to reverse and cure their ailments. his plan was foolproof.

or so he thought...

ramsden did not account for any mutations that the X VIRUS would go through. but it did. the infected would turn mad and aggressive before their deaths. and after....they were hunger only for human flesh. ramsden had successfully created zombies.

that was nearly a year ago. since then, the world has nearly come to an end. silence reigns over the destruction of the world, with nothing to be heard but the lulling moans of the zombie hoards outside your door. with less than a few hundred people still alive in the state of wisconsin, the hawk family has set up a community in what was the old mendota pshyicatric hospital. inside, the handful of survivors, who remain uninfected, thrive off of what means they have. but who knows how long that will remain safe for.

outside the walls, zombies are not the only thing lurking. aside from ramsden, a wild group of bandits led by 'the reaper' are causing havoc. meanwhile, a lone woman attempts to save those in need.

power and plumbing are still in working order in some areas, but not for long. cell phones and the internet have become obsolete and radio transmissions remain the only means of communication. the estimated number of survivors throughout the world is unknown, but the X VIRUS has spread worldwide.

the only question is, how will YOU deal with the end of the world? can you make it? or will you fall prey to the dangers lurking in the shadows?
